Biomass & Air Source Installation Service Technician

An enthusiastic and skilled technician Is required for a renewable energy company that specializes in the supply, design and installation of renewable heating solutions, mainly biomass but also air source heat pumps for domestic and commercial projects.

The systems range from 5kW to 500kW+

The main duties of the post holder will comprise of

  • responsibility for problem investigation/resolution and warranty services as specified by the company’s technical manager and directors
  • to undertake and assist with system installation design supported by the company’s technical manager
  • to attend system call outs and breakdowns
  • to contribute to the development of the company’s sales aims by promoting its products
  • to undertake domestic and commercial biomass and air source installation and surveys as required

Essential Skills

Proven heating, plumbing and pipework installation experience

NVQ Level 3 Engineering and or Plumbing or European standard.

HETAS005 Biomass or BPEC Biomass Installation qualifications or European

G3 Unvented Ticket

UK valid driving licence

Desirable Skills.

Electrical qualifications such as part P or 17th edition would be a distinct advantage.

A valid Hot Water Systems and Safety qualification: HW and/or unvented HW qualifications are advantageous

Knowledge, skills and experience

Safe installation methods and working practices

Legal and compliant installations and working practices

Legal and compliant commissioning of systems/appliances

Issue of commissioning paperwork for appliances/installations

Quick and accurate identification and/or diagnosis of faults

Identification of hazards or risks associated with installation works

Personal Attributes

The position requires working some flexible hours.

The successful applicant must be a good communicator with sound organisational skills and be a problem solver.

The successful applicant will need to be a good ’team’ person who is prepared to work with the company’s staff members.

There is the potential for the successful applicant to progress within the company to share holder/director level.

4 weeks paid holiday plus extended Xmas New Year break.

Salary £20,000- £30,000 subject to skill and knowledge
